fix(column): correct width after truncated 'statuscolumn' error (#26737)

Browse Source 
Problem:  Default number column has incorrect width after 'statuscolumn'
          is unset due to an error, but was also truncated.
Solution: Reverse 'statuscolumn' error and truncate return branches.
