202e17deef vim-patch:9.2.0346: Wrong cursor position when entering command line window (#39072)
Problem: Wrong cursor position when entering command line window
Solution: Add check_cursor() command to verify the cursor position
          (Hirohito Higashi).

When opening the command-line window with CTRL-F after typing a command
that fills the screen width, the cursor was placed past the end of the
line. Add check_cursor() after setting State to MODE_NORMAL so the
cursor is adjusted to the last character.

Also fix the cmdwin prefix character (e.g. ':') being drawn on wrapped
continuation rows. Draw an empty space instead so that the text
alignment is preserved.

19fff0e0be vim-patch:9.2.0232: fileinfo not shown after :bd of last listed buffer (#38453)
Problem: fileinfo not shown after :bd of last listed buffer
          (memeplex)
Solution: Set need_fileinfo to true in empty_curbuf()
          (Hirohito Higashi)

When deleting the last listed buffer with :bd, the new empty buffer's
file info (e.g. "[No Name]" --No lines in buffer--) was not displayed.
do_ecmd() only calls fileinfo() for existing buffers (oldbuf), not for
newly created empty buffers.

Set need_fileinfo in empty_curbuf() so the file info is displayed after
redraw.

ba89354a45 vim-patch:9.2.0270: test: trailing spaces used in tests
Problem: test: trailing spaces used in tests
Solution: Rewrite tests to avoid trailing spaces (Paul Ollis).

Some tests currently rely on trailing whitespace at the end of lines,
escaped with '\'. I have demonstrated in another PR, such spaces can be
inadvertently removed and this is difficult to spot.

Note: there are more trailing spaces in a few more test files, see
testdir/test_codestyle.vim. Those are not yet removed.

a940b77cb2 feat(prompt): prompt_appendbuf() appends to prompt buffer #37763
Problem:
Currently, we recommend always inserting text above prompt-line in
prompt-buffer. This can be done using the `:` mark. However, although
we recommend it this way it can sometimes get confusing how to do it
best.

Solution:
Provide an api to append text to prompt buffer. This is a common
use-case for things using prompt-buffer.

ecc2414eae vim-patch:955c02d: runtime(sh): Distinguish parts of function definitions
- Highlight keywords "function" and "namespace" with

- Highlight function body delimiters "{" and "}" with the
  "Delimiter" group ("shFunctionExprRegion").
- Highlight function body delimiters "(" and ")" with the
  "Operator" group ("shFunctionSubShRegion").
- Also, follow one style in folding all supported variants
of function bodies for grouping commands too by enclosing
  a delimited function body, e.g. "{" and "}", in a fold and
leaving its function header, e.g. "function f()", out of

689a149b08 fix(prompt): don't implicitly set 'modified' #38118
Problem:
In aec3d7915c Vim changed prompt-buffers
to respect 'modified' so the termdebug plugin can "control closing the
window". But for most use-cases (REPL, shell, AI "chat", …),
prompt-buffers are in practice always "modified", and no way to "save"
them, so *implicitly* setting 'modified' is noisy and annoying.

Solution:
Don't implicitly set 'modified' when a prompt-buffer is updated.
Plugins/users can still explicitly set 'modified', which will then
trigger the "E37: No write since last change" warning.

e3d46a6337 test: start test runners in Xtest_xdg dir (#37964)
This is a better way to prevent parallel tests from interfering with
each other, as there are many ways files can be created and deleted in
tests, so enforcing different file names is hard.

Using $TMPDIR can also work in most cases, but 'backipskip' etc. have
special defaults for $TMPDIR.

Symlink runtime/, src/, test/ and README.md to Xtest_xdg dir to make
tests more convenient (and symlinking test/ is required for busted).

Also, use README.md instead of test/README.md in the Ex mode inccommand
test, as test/README.md no longer contains 'N' char.

Define a CMake target for every subdirectory of test/functional that

parallel.

On CI, use at most 2 parallel test runners, as using more may increase
system load and make tests unstable.

a5eb023a53 fix(prompt): clear undo when changing/appending prompt
Problem: undoing after the prompt is changed breaks it (and causes init_prompt
to abort it and append a new one), as the undo history contains the old prompt.

Solution: like submitting, clear the undo buffer. Don't do it in init_prompt if
the line was empty; that may not result in a new prompt, and causes commands
like "S" to lose the history.

As u_save, etc. wasn't being called by prompt_setprompt, undoing after it fixes
the prompt usually gave undesirable results anyway.

Remove the added undo_spec.lua test, as its approach no longer works as a repro,
and finding a new one seems fiddly.

7641177c5f fix(prompt): wrong cursor col after prompt_setprompt, no on_lines
Problem: prompt_setprompt calls coladvance with a byte column, but it expects a
screen column. on_lines buffer-updates aren't fired when fixing the prompt line.

Solution: don't use coladvance. Call changed_lines, which also simplifies the
redraw logic. (and calls changed_cline_bef_curs if needed; added test checks
this)

Unlike https://github.com/neovim/neovim/pull/37743/changes#r2775398744, this
means &modified is set by prompt_setprompt if it fixes the prompt line.
Not setting &modified is inconsistent anyway -- even init_prompt sets it if it
fixes the prompt line.

8ab511bba5 feat(prompt): plugins can update prompt during user input #37743
Problem:
Currently, if prompt gets changed during user-input with

ed8fbd2e29 vim-patch:9.1.2138: win_execute() and 'autochdir' can corrupt buffer name (#37767)
Problem: With 'autochdir' win_execute() can corrupt the buffer name,
causing :write to use wrong path.
Solution: Save and restore b_fname when 'autochdir' is active
          (Ingo Karkat).

This is caused by a bad interaction of the 'autochdir' behavior,
overriding of the current directory via :lchdir, and the temporary
window switching done by win_execute(), manifesting when e.g. a custom
completion inspects other buffers:
1. In the initial state after the :lcd .. we have curbuf->b_fname =
   "Xsubdir/file".
2. do_autochdir() is invoked, temporarily undoing the :lcd .., changing
   back into the Xsubdir/ subdirectory.
3. win_execute() switches windows, triggering win_enter_ext() →
   win_fix_current_dir() → shorten_fnames(TRUE)
4. shorten_fnames() processes *all* buffers
5. shorten_buf_fname() makes the filename relative to the current
(wrong) directory; b_fname becomes "file" instead of "Xsubdir/file"
6. Directory restoration correctly restores working directory via
   mch_chdir() (skipping a second do_autochdir() invocation because
apply_acd is FALSE), but b_fname remains corrupted, with the
   "Xsubdir/" part missing.
7. expand("%:p") (and commands like :write) continue to use the
corrupted filename, resolving to a wrong path that's missing the
   "Xsubdir/" part.

To fix the problem the short filename is saved if its in effect (i.e.
pointed to by curbuf->b_fname) and 'autochdir' happened. It's then
restored in case of a local cwd override. The conditions limit this
workaround to when 'autochdir' is active *and* overridden by a :lchdir.

18642a63be vim-patch:9.1.1969: Wrong cursor position after formatting with long 'formatprg' (#36918)
Problem: Wrong cursor position after formatting with long 'formatprg'.
Solution: Don't show hit-enter prompt when there are stuffed characters.

Previously a stuffed character at the hit-enter prompt will dismiss the
prompt immediately and be put in the typeahead buffer, which leads to
incorrect behavior as the typeahead buffer is processed after the stuff
buffers. Using vungetc() when KeyStuffed is TRUE can fix this problem,
but since the hit-enter prompt isn't visible anyway (and is likely not
desired here), just skip the prompt instead, which also avoids a wait
when using "wait" instead of "hit-enter" in 'messagesopt'.

Problem: Wrong display when using setline() at hit-enter prompt
          (after 8.2.3204).
Solution: Only skip scrolling for changed lines in top area if it's
scrolled down due to w_topline change. Also add more testing
          for what 8.2.3204 fixed (zeertzjq).

Solution: Free debug_oldval and debug_newval before assigning to them.

          (zeertzjq).

It seems that :breakadd expr doesn't work as documented at all. This PR
only fixes the memory leak. The tests are for the existing behavior.

466b2ac192 fix(prompt): wrong cursor position with cursor keys (#36196)
**Problem**:
Currently, whenever user get's on prompt-text area we move the user to
end of user-input area. As a result when left/c-left,home keys are
triggered at start of user-input the cursor get's placed at end of
user-input. But this behavior can be jarring and unintuitive also it's
different from previous behavior where it'd just stay at start of
input-area. Also, previously when insert-mode was triggered in
prompt-text with n_a for example then cursor was placed at start of
user-input area not at the end. So, that behavior was also broken.

**Solution:**
Restore previous behavior. Don't force user to end of user-input when
entering insert-mode from readonly section.

a0f3fdba58 vim-patch:9.1.1479: regression when displaying localized percentage position
Problem: regression when displaying localized percentage position
          (after v9.1.1291)
Solution: calculate percentage first (Emir SARI)

Cleanups made in ec032de broke the Turkish percent display, failing to
prepend it properly in cases between 0 and 10. In Turkish, the percent
sign is prepended to the number, so it was displaying it as `% 5`
(should have been `%5`), while displaying numbers bigger than 9 properly.

The test was unskipped in Vim in patch 9.1.1479 which added Turkish
translation for "%d%%". However, Nvim has had Turkish translation for
"%d%%" since 2023, so don't skip the test.

Problem: popup: there are some position logic bugs
Solution: Refactor position logic and fix a few bugs
          (Girish Palya).

This change does the following:

- Simplified and rewrote horizontal positioning logic (was overly
  complex).
- Split horizontal and vertical positioning into separate functions.
- Fixed missing truncation marker (e.g. `>`) when items were truncated
  and `pummaxwidth` was not set.
- Fixed occasional extra space being added to menu items.
- Update tests

7923e847ca vim-patch:9.1.1831: stray vseps in right-most 'winfixwidth' window
Problem: vertical separator of 'winfixwidth' windows may remain if they
become right-most windows from closing windows to the right.
Solution: Don't implicitly rely on frame_new_width to fix vseps, as the
call may be skipped for 'winfixwidth' windows to preserve
their width; do it explicitly in winframe_remove (Sean Dewar).

Note that I prefer win_new_width here over setting w_width directly, which
would've previously been done by win_split_ins after frame_add_vsep, as this
wasn't true for winframe_remove.

Though the equivalent issue of bottom 'winfixheight' windows leaving stray
statuslines with &ls=0 doesn't seem to exist, test it anyway.
