aff618536b fix(shada): persist cleared registers #40601
Problem:
Clearing a register via `:let @a = ""` doesn't persist in shada.

Solution:
Follows the precedent of ee56daebb6 .
Namely, when the live register is empty and *at least as recent* as the copy
that is on disk, drop it instead of writing it back.

af9f24b80b fix(shada): persist cleared search patterns #40600
Problem:
`:let @/ = ""` doesn't stick after restart (the old search pattern comes back).

Solution:
When the current session cleared the pattern more-recently than stored
shada entry, drop the shada entry instead of restoring it.

Note: similar timestamp-based suppression was used for deleted
marks: ee56daebb6

6acde1fcf0 fix(shada): prevent case-duplicate :oldfiles #40013
Problem:
On Windows and macOS, entries in `oldfiles` may differ only in case,
but actually refer to the same file.

Solution:
Previously, deduplication used `Set_cstr_t`. We can add a similar `Set_path_t`
that performs path-aware comparisons, ignoring case differences. On Windows, it
could also ignore path separator differences, and treat `C:\foo` and `\foo` as
the same path when the current drive is `C:`.

0b96b3cd52 fix(shada): set correct buffer number for local marks on read #39712
Problem:
After closing and reopening Neovim, ]' and [' fail with E92: Buffer 0
not found for marks restored from ShaDa. Direct jumps like 'a work
because mark_get_local() rewrites fnum before returning, but ]' uses
getnextmark() which does not, leaving fnum = 0.

Solution:
Set .fnum = buf->b_fnum when restoring local marks from ShaDa.

496374e951 fix(shada): bdelete'd buffers not stored in oldfiles #39070
Problem:
b98eefd added `!b_p_bl` to `ignore_buf()`, which also
skips bdelete'd buffers since bdelete unsets `b_p_bl`.

Solution:
Check `b_p_initialized` together with `b_p_bl` so that
bdelete'd buffers (which have b_p_initialized=false) are not
filtered out. Keep `b_p_bl` check only in `shada_get_buflist()`.

41cac54325 feat(defaults): exclude temp dirs from 'shada' oldfiles #37631
Problem:
Temporary files from /tmp/ and /private/ paths clutter :oldfiles list.
Additionally, the documented Windows default (rA:,rB:) was never applied
due to a missing platform condition.

Solution:
Drop platform-specific shada differences and default to excluding
/tmp/ and /private/ paths.

638d44ded8 test(shada/buffers_spec): cleanup output file #36154
Problem

As part of https://github.com/neovim/neovim/pull/34373 a unit test was
added that executes the `write` command. This causes a file to be
created named `Xtestfile-functional-shada-buffers-2`. In general tests
should cleanup resources they create.

Solution

Remove the call to `write`, test functions correctly without it.

198c9e9bca fix(shada): preserve marks after delete across sessions (#35795)
Problem: Marks are lost after `:bdelete` because `ignore_buf()` filters
out unlisted buffers during shada mark processing.

Solution: Revert to original buffer checks for mark operations, avoiding
`!buf->b_p_bl` condition that incorrectly ignores deleted buffers.

840cdb9589 feat(shada): shada should not store nobuflisted buffers #21818
Problem: Shada jumplist entries still include entries from e.g. 'nobuflisted' buffers.

f4921e2b7d fix(shada): ":wshada/:rshada [filename]" with shadafile=NONE #32538
Problem: read/write shada function logic was skipped entirely if it was
detected the shadafile option was set to 'NONE'.

Solution: The filename is now always resolved. When the shadafile option
is set to 'NONE' AND no filename was passed, the filename resolves to an
empty string, which causes the read/write functions to return.
Regardless of whether the option is set to 'NONE', when a filename is
explicitly passed, it gets resolved and the read/write logic is
accessed.

64b0e6582a refactor(tests): merge n.spawn/n.spawn_argv into n.new_session #31859
Problem:
- `n.spawn()` is misleading because it also connects RPC, it's not just
  "spawning" a process.
- It's confusing that `n.spawn()` and `n.spawn_argv()` are separate.

Solution:
- Replace `n.spawn()`/`n.spawn_argv()` with a single function `n.new_session()`.
  This name aligns with the existing functions `n.set_session`/`n.get_session`.
    - Note: removes direct handling of `prepend_argv`, but I doubt that was
      important or intentional. If callers want to control use of `prepend_argv`
      then we should add a new flag to `test.session.Opts`.
- Move `keep` to first parameter of `n.new_session()`.
- Add a `merge` flag to `test.session.Opts`
- Mark `_new_argv()` as private. Test should use clear/new_session/spawn_wait
  instead.

737f58e232 refactor(api)!: rename Dictionary => Dict
In the api_info() output:

    :new|put =map(filter(api_info().functions, '!has_key(v:val,''deprecated_since'')'), 'v:val')
    ...

    {'return_type': 'ArrayOf(Integer, 2)', 'name': 'nvim_win_get_position', 'method': v:true, 'parameters': [['Window', 'window']], 'since': 1}

The `ArrayOf(Integer, 2)` return type didn't break clients when we added
it, which is evidence that clients don't use the `return_type` field,
thus renaming Dictionary => Dict in api_info() is not (in practice)
a breaking change.

576dddb461 test: don't unnecessarily specify win/buf for nvim_(get|set)_option_value
`nvim_(get|set)_option_value` pick the current buffer / window by default for buffer-local/window-local (but not global-local) options. So specifying `buf = 0` or `win = 0` in opts is unnecessary for those options. This PR removes those to reduce code clutter.
