Problem:    Clearing screen causes flicker.
Solution:   Do not clear but redraw in more cases.  Add () to "wait_return".

f79773a3b4 refactor: move non-symbols in ex_eval.h to ex_eval_defs.h (#19739)

eef8de4df0 refactor(uncrustify): change rules to better align with the style guide 
Add space around arithmetic operators '+' and '-'.
Remove space between back-to-back parentheses, i.e. ')(' vs. ') ('.
Remove space between '((' or '))' of control statements.
Add space between ')' and '{' of control statements.
Remove space between function name and '(' on function declaration.
Collapse empty blocks between '{' and '}'.
Remove newline at the end of the file.
Remove newline between 'enum' and '{'.
Remove newline between '}' and ')' in a function invocation.
Remove newline between '}' and 'while' of 'do' statement.

88270a5735 refactor: add function xstrnsave 
xstrnsave is a clone of vim_strnsave that uses char* instead of char_u*.
Its purpose short-term is to help reduce the number of casts and for
long-term to replace vim_strnsave as the need to use char_u is
eliminated.

Solution:   Add semsg().  Change argument from "char_u *" to "char *", also
            for msg() and get rid of most MSG macros. (Ozaki Kiichi, closes
            vim/vim#3302)  Also make emsg() accept a "char *" argument.  Get rid of
            an enormous number of type casts.

24ee261317 if_cscope: Fix PVS/V560: condition would result in earlier return 
Previous block just checks for totmatches being zero and returns if it is. And 
totmatches is unsigned, so `totmatches > 0` may never be true.
